Letter [from USA]: Pendleton lends a hand to Cambodia group

East Oregonian

Part of my new year’s resolve is to be more thankful for blessings. I want to thank the community of Pendleton for being so supportive of my sister’s organization, Friendship with Cambodia (www.friendshipwithcambodia.org). Although the business is operated out of Eugene, Pendleton has hosted fair trade craft sales, book talks and presentations, all of which have brought awareness and financial support to the efforts of this small non-profit. She has begun calling us the “Pendleton Outpost” of Friendship with Cambodia!

Big thanks go to the businesses and organizations that have helped over the last few years: Great Pacific Wine and Coffee Co., Pendleton Center for the Arts, the Yoga Round-Up, Armchair Books, the Pendleton Public Library, the East Oregonian, Studio 421 and Blue Mountain Community College.

More thanks go out to the individuals who have purchased Cambodian fair trade crafts and made commitments to financially support Friendship with Cambodia’s humanitarian programs.

In Cambodia, the dollar goes a long way toward helping those in need. This past year, FWC helped over 2000 individuals, and in many cases their families as well.

Pendleton has continued to demonstrate its giving nature through yet another year.

Thank you so much!

Ellen Hartstirn
