Mr. Lim Bun Seng, director to LoranGahr Import-Export, said his company will begin export Cambodian rice to the United States from next year. He said his company had received export permit from the government and is working on the planning and logistics to get the process ready for exports.
Currently, Cambodian immigrants living in the United States, numbering about 2800,000, are buying imported Thai or Vietnamese rice. However, he said, from next year those Cambodian immigrants will be able to buy Cambodian rice.
He said many Cambodian immigrants said they will buy Cambodian rice rather than buying foreign rice, if they are available on the markets.

This is great. I'm KhmerAmerican and I would love to buy anything made in Cambodia that is being exported to America. There are tons of goods and products made in Thailand and Vietnam but very few made in Cambodia that being sold in America. I don't know the reasons behind this but I'm glad that Cambodian products are slowly finding their ways onto American store shelves.
