Today, 5th November, Shukaku company, owned by tycoon Lao Meng Khin, a senator from the ruling Cambodian People's Party, has pumped in sands to flood houses around Boeng Kok Lake despite protests by the residents. 38 houses were flooded by sands and more than 100 houses were flooded by water.
Residents had protested against the company's actions but the company had brought in heavy police presence who threatened the protesters.
