Crush victims on pic board
Desperate relatives scour photos of the dead from the Cambodia bridge stampede to see if missing loved ones are among them.
The grim task came as search teams trawled a river for more victims of the crush that killed at least 378 and injured 755.
Prime Minister Hun Sen declared tomorrow a day of mourning and promised an investigation into the disaster at the annual water festival in the capital Phnom Penh.
He described the stampede as the “ biggest tragedy to hit Cambodia since the Khmer Rouge mass murders in the 70s” .
At the Preah Kossamak hospital, San Supa told how both her daughter and son-in-law were among the dead. She said: “ I came straight here and found out they had died.”
Tragedy struck after thousands of young revellers left a gig on an island and crammed on to a packed bridge. The victims were crushed to death or drowned. The death toll could still rise.
