Concert dispute
CAMBODIAN singer Pich Sophea has denied allegations by Khun David of the Khmer-Canadian Association that she violated the terms of a contract to perform a series of concerts in Canada.

Khun David has said that she cost the association US$7,000 after failing to perform two months of scheduled performances.

Pich Sophea, in turn, has accused the association of cheating her out of revenues, adding that she had fulfilled all her contractual obligations of a tour that stretched from October 12 to November 6 and for which she was paid $2,500.

“I was invited to stay three weeks and perform four shows in Canada, which I completed before my return, but [Khun David] wanted me to delay my trip and stay longer in order to make more money for his own interests,” the singer said.

In a similar case last month, a German-based NGO sued singer Mesa Soksophea for breach of contract, accusing her of skipping planned concerts in Germany.
