Two Cambodians, a mother and daughter, have been killed when Thai soldiers indiscriminately shot at a group of 20 Cambodians who tried to cross the border to find work in Thailand on Thursday 30th September.
The two killed, 59 year-old Mourn Saroeuth and and 15 year-old Soeun Chatra, from O'Dombang village in Battambang province, were crossing the border at Robieng Checkpoint in a pick up truck heading to Aranyaprathet. About 10 kilometres into Thai territory, a group of Thai soldiers tried to stop the vehicle but the driver sped off, triggering the Thai soldiers to shoot at the vehicle, killing the mother and daughter. Six of the travellers escaped back into Cambodia by foot, 2 arrested by Thai soldiers while others have escaped into Thai territory without any news. The bodies of the two dead had been kept at a hospital morgue in Aranyaprathet.
Mr. Dy Chen, chief of Poipet International Checkpoint, said Thai authority told Cambodian authority that the mother and daughter have died of drowning. However, a Thai reporter who went to see the two dead bodies on the spot said that the mother and daughter did die of drowning, but died of gunshot wounds because their bodies were covered with blood and riddled with bullets. The same Thai reporter said that the spot where the Cambodian mother and daughter died was under the control of the Thai 12th Company.
In the last two years, more than 30 Cambodians workers and loggers have been brutally killed by Thai border troops while they seek works in Thailand.

This is a crime against humanity. In a civilized nation,its society will not rest.They will find those perpetrators to justice. Even, animals' right are protected. No one are allowed to commit such crime against any being?
We all Khmer must united and condemn these crimes to Thai government,who turn a blind eyes for all of these crimes to happen. We all so condemn the Hanoi's puppet CPP/Hun Sen that do nothing to protect Khmer life.They are the one who create these crimes. In the last five years Hun Sen have sold thousand of hectares of farm land to Hanoi to exploit for mineral or farming.As a result millions of Khmer farmers are living in poverty trap. That is why we have seen so many Khmer are pushed to find works in Thailand.Those Khmer are simply the victim of direct Hun Sen's politics of country for sell. Hanoi controle everything in Cambodia from Armed forces to basic economy.
I would like to urge all Khmer abroad or in Camboda to stop buying Thai or Vietnamese products. Stop flying to Cambodia via Bangkok or Thai Airlines. When you do, you should think about your direct association with this crime against your mother or brother and your nation.
This news of Crime should be sent to UN court of justice, and it should be posted to every Khmer newspapers to know about this uncivilized and cruel maner of Thai soldiers or its government.
I would like to urge also to all Khmer commanders and soldiers to show no friendly faces or shake hands with Thai soldiers or politicians.This act is equivalence of Thai putting their foot on Khmer head. If you do not feel angry that mean you are not human being. You are just simply an animal like Hun Sen.
All Khmer politicains and Khmer soldiers should ask youselves : What are you carrying guns for? Is it to defend Hun clans or country?. Defend party? or justice and interest for your country?.
Its time to free yourselves from ignorant and become a soldiers or politicians that live ,breath, and die as soldier of conscience of justice for your country and humanity.
You can live without Bangkok or Hanoi for thousand years,but you can not live without your country and your people.
True Khmer
It's time the Cambodian government do something, like lodging a strong diplomatic protest with the Thai government. Cambodians are also human who should not be killed like animals. The crime of crossing the border, whether legally or illegally, does not deserve the death penalty, especially in the form of an execution by Thai soldiers. This is a barbaric act of killing unarmed Cambodian civilians by the Thai barbarians!
