It's been less than a year since Vannara Be (pictured) was granted Australian citizenship - just in time for him to become the first Cambodian-born athlete to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Games.
The 22-year-old weightlifter claimed bronze at the Oceania Championsips in Fiji in May but missed out on a medal in the 62 kilo category at the Games in New Delhi this week. He finished eighth with Malaysia's Aricco Jumitih and Naharudin Mahayudin winning gold and silver respectively, and Sri Lanka's Anton Kurukulasooriyage securing bronze.
