Acting Thai government spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn said that Thailand will not agree to discuss border issue when Thai PM Abhisit Vejjajiva meet Cambodia's PM Hun Sen on the sideline of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Brussels from 5-6 October.

Speaking during an interview with China's Xinhua News agency in Bangkok on Thursday, Mr. Panitan said border issue will be left to the border committees from both countries to resolve and the meeting will be discussing about general issues on how to improve co-operations and bilateral ties between the two countries.

The Thai PM has requested the meeting with Mr. Hun Sen when the latter complained to ASEAN and the UN Security Council about Thai violations of Cambodian territorial integrity.

At the same time, during a meeting with the Press Secretary to the Thai Prime Minister, Mr. Ong-Art Klampaiboon on Thursday, Mr. Hun Sen had proposed four meetings with Mr. Abhisit and that is during the ASEAN-US Meeting in Jakarta in Indonesia on 24th September, in New York during the UN General Assembly, in Hanoi during the ASEAN Summit, in Brussels during the ASEM meeting and in Phnom Penh. Mr. Hun Sen said a wide range of topics and issues, including border issues, will be discussed in those meetings.
