Today, on the eve of International Day of Democracy – 14 September 2010 – 17 non-governmental organizations, community organizations and unions release a report on freedom of expression in Cambodia titled, Cambodia Gagged: Democracy at Risk? Please find attached a file containing a copy of the report and accompanying briefing note, both in Khmer and English.
The NGOs, community organizations and unions involved in the report include: Action for Environments and Communities (AEC), ARTICLE 19, Building Community Voices (BCV), the Cambodia Center for Human Rights (CCHR), the Cambodian Center for the Protection of Children's Rights (CCPCR), the Cambodian Independent Civil Servants Association (CICA), the Cambodian Independent Teacher Association (CITA), the Cambodian Tourist Service Workers' Federation (CTSWF), the Center for Labor Rights of Cambodia (CLA-RI), the Cambodian League for the Protection and Defence of Human Rights (LICADHO), Committee for Free and Fair Elections in Cambodia (COMFREL), the Community Legal Education Center (CLEC), the Community Peace Building Network (CPN), the Independent Democracy of Informal Economy Association (IDEA), the Khmer Kampuchea Krom for Human Rights and Development Association (KKKHRDA), Legal Aid of Cambodia (LAC) and Star Kampuchea.
