A Chinese company has claimed it plans to invest US$3 billion in the Cambodian power, property and metal processing sectors.
The chairman of China’s Inner Mongolia Erdos (Houng Jun Investment Co) met with Prime Minister Hun Sen yesterday to discuss the proposals, the premiere’s personal assistant Eang Sophalleth said.
He said the firm’s chairman, Lin Xiang Wang, informed Hun Sen about his company’s wish to build a coal power plant in Preah Sihanouk province, capable of generating 700 megawatts of energy, together with investments in property development and aluminum processing for local markets and export.
