The Khmer Krom community in Cambodia has expressed regrets that the Cambodian government had refused permission for them to open their own radio station in Cambodia, but allowed Vietnam, a communist country which oppresses and persecutes Khmer Krom and which bans Khmer Krom people from listening to radios and watching TVs broadcasting from Cambodia, to open the Voice of Vietnam's representative office in Phnom Penh.

Mr. Thach Setha, president of Khmer Kampuchea Krom Community, said he wants the Cambodian government to give permission to Khmer Krom to open their own radio station in Cambodia, the same as the Cambodian government giving permission to Vietnamese community in Cambodia to open their radio stations. "I regrets very much what the Cambodian government had done to the Khmer Krom people. We want the Khmer Krom's voice to be heard here (in Cambodia). If they allowed the Vietnamese to have their radio in Cambodia, they must also allow the Khmer Krom to have our own radio as well to make it fair. In Vietnam, our (Khmer Krom) people were not allowed by the Vietnamese authority to listen to radio or watch TVs from Cambodia. They have banned our rights", he said.

The Voice of Vietnam's representative office was inaugurated by the visiting Vietnamese president Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet and Cambodian officials in Phnom Pneh on Friday, 27th August.

What the Vietnamese government doing is dividing up Khmer. Hun Sen is under the leash of Hanoi, threrefor if Hanoi said not to allow Khmer Krom radio in Cambodia or not allow Cambodian television or radio programs broadcast in Kampchea Krom, Cambodian government will do just that. It's like they're under Hanoi's black magic spell. They are paralyze to do anything for Khmer. The longer Hun Sen in power the more Khmer suffer because Hanoi want Khmer to suffer. As much as we blame Hun Sen, we should try to see beyond Hun Sen. Behind Hun Sen is a puppetmaster who disguises itself as a friend of
Cambodia and use the government of Cambodia to spread
this false sense of friendship but truthfully this friend is
Khmer's centuries old enemy. This enemy never had good intension for Cambodia. Its intension is to fullfill its ambition of expanding the territory at all cost. This enemy is clever, cunning, and deceptive. It will lay quietly waiting for the right opportunity then strike. This enemy is tenacious. Like cancer, it wil not stop, or it doesn't know how to stop.

It's 21th century, the idea of a nation expanding its
territory by invading its neighbor is obsolete, not Vietnam.
Vietnam is still sneaking and inching its way into Cambodia.
Over years, decades, and centuries later. Cambodia will be
smaller and smaller. We all should be very fearful squeezed of this. Vietnam is a very dirty thief. At the rate of
Vietnam encroachment into Cambodia, we will be end up
like Champa.

Sad to see Khmer government allow foreigners to open radio station, but bans Khmer from opening their own radio station.

The Vietnamese seem to forget quickly and never learn the painful lesson of the French Colonialism and the United States bombing. They admitted the bitterness of the two Superpowers invasion and colonialism; the pains and the deep scar in their hearts a lasting moral and emotional injury seem never heal. Historical evidences had shown the Vietnamese had been the victim all along and no need to inflict these same painful wound on Cambodia. The Vietnamese learn the lessons well from the Colonialism that you can be aggressive by invading the neighboring country to steal land but you can not steal their hearts and souls. Some day, Cambodians will rise up for a revenge and send you back on boats floating to be bombarded by the USA, French and China. Cambodian Courage is itself VICTORY. We might win or we might lose. But regardless of the short-term outcome, the very fact of our continuing to struggle is proof of our VICTORY as a human being.
