Prime Minister Hun Sen (pictured) has declared Cambodia's unequivocal supports of a One-China policy and bans all Taiwan's official offices in Cambodia, reports Cambodian Express News.

Speaking in front of a Chinese charge d'affaires during the launch of the National Project for Development of Democracy for 2010-2019 on Monday morning, Mr. Hun Sen said Cambodia will always support a One-China policy by saying that Taiwan is just another province of China.

Mr. Hun Sen said Taiwan had requested to re-open its diplomatic and trade missions in Cambodia but the request was turned down. He warned all provincial governors that they will be removed from office if they allow any Taiwanese flags to be flown in their province during the upcoming Taiwan National Day.

China has always maintained that Taiwan is a renegade province of China and has several times threatened to use force to re-unite Taiwan with Mainland China if Taiwan declare its independence.

From 1993 to 1997, Cambodia allowed Taiwan to open and maintain a de facto diplomatic and trade office in Cambodia to the irritation of China. After Mr. Hun Sen toppled Prince Ranariddh from power in the 1997 coup, he immediately ordered the closure of all Taiwanese offices in Cambodia.
