Three days after Vietnam's president had inaugurated a representative office of the Voice of Vietnam Radio inn Phnom Penh, China has held talk with Cambodian official to open a radio station in Cambodia's Siem Reap province.
Deum Ampil reported that Mr. Yan Cheng Sheng, director of China's Radio and TV for the Asia-Pacific region, is meeting with Cambodian Information Minister Khieu Kanharith on Monday morning to discuss about opening a radio station in Siem Reap.
Mr. Kanharith said in the past, China Radio was broadcasting through Cambodia's National Radio airwave, but now China Radio wants to have its own radio station in Cambodia, but said he doesn't know when. "I don't know when China Radio station will be established", he said.
Vietnam has just opened its representative office in Phnom Penh which was inaugurated by the Vietnamese president three days ago.

What's happening here? Vietnam just opened another radio station for Vietnamese living in Cambodia and soon a first Chinese radio station in Cambodia? What is China and Vietnam up to in Cambodia? To me, it seems like whenever China gives something to Cambodia, Vietnam is not far behind in giving or making some kind of deals with Cambodian governments. Is China and Vietnam try to win the hearts and minds of Cambodia? Well, whatever the case, I think Cambodian government should distance themselves from Hanoi and increase more ties with Beijing. Being closer to the big guy, Cambodia will benefit more.
Being closer to Vietnam, Cambodia will eventually lose
more than what Vietnam offers.

never to conquer cambodia as seen in the past history,Not like vietnam's allway plot to take over
cambodia as already happen in Khmer-Krom erea in southern part of vietnam.I hope and pray that our

I agree with both opinions on top. China took notice the level of influence of Vietnam over Cambodia. To counteract this Hanoi influence, China need to help Cambodia to be strong economically and militarily. When Cambodia become strong, Cambodia will be less dependence from Hanoi involvement in Cambodia's affair. We all know that Vietnam and China are sworn enemy. Politically, they shake hands for the sake of trade and regional security. If China had her way, she wouldn't hesitate to invade Vietnam just like she did in 1978. The reason, possibly Vietnam's plans of Cambodia invasion. Vietnam is this little
arrogance manace who is always up to go no good. It
wants to be so involve with Laos and Cambodia. It feels the need to control these two former French-Indochina
members. Vietnam think it is the boss, how arrogant.
Well... soon the boss isn't Vietnam that involve in Indochina states, it going to be China. Vietnam might as well kissing up to China now. Vietnam pride itself for having the biggest military among the ASEAN. Well, Vietnam is being paranoid of China, that is why it has armed itself to the teeth. Arms
itself to the teeth it may be for Vietnam, but if and when
China attacked, Big-Red won't make it easy for Vietnam. Good luck Vietnam.
