China had provided scholarships to 54 Cambodian students to continue their studies at bachelor-level and advanced degree-level at Chinese tertiary institutions, reports everyday.com.
Mr. He Liping, the Chinese charge d'affaires, said China decided to provide these scholarships as a contribution to helping develop Cambodian human resources and as testimony of a close relation between the two countries.
Mrs. Phoeung Sakona, Secretary of State of Education Ministry, said China's contributions in the field of education comes at a time when Cambodia is in dire needs to develop this sector. She had expressed Cambodia's appreciation for Chinese assistance, which has been readily forthcoming.
