The Ministry of Finance and Economy said the ministry will earmark 12 trillion riels ($3 billion) for the 2011 National Budget, reports everyday.com.
In a meeting at the parliament house on the morning of Monday, 19th July, between the Finance Ministry and the National Audit Commission, a Finance Ministry official said the ministry forecast that in 2011 the country can collect 9 trillion riels ($2.25 billion) in revenue for the national treasury and the national expenditures will increase to 12 trillion riels, up 50% from the 2010 national budget of 8 trillion riels.
Mr. Keat Chhon (pictured), Minister of Finance, said these are projected figures that have been collected from all relevant ministries. He said, however, that the actual figures might change.
