PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (AP) - Cambodia has accused Thai soldiers of instigating a brief gunbattle between troops at a disputed border, saying nobody was injured in the latest clash between the two militaries.
A Cambodian official says the two sides fired rifles, machine guns and rockets in a 15-minute clash early Saturday at the O'Smach checkpoint in northern Cambodia.
The official, Pech Sokhin, blamed Thai soldiers for firing shots after Cambodian troops ignored a demand to shift their location deeper into Cambodian territory.
The two sides accuse each other of encroaching on the other's land.
Thai authorities could not immediately be reached for comment.
