A US$25 million golf course project inside Grand Phnom Penh International City is expected to finish by year’s end, the project manager said Monday, ahead of the ASEAN Tourism Forum to be hosted by Cambodia early next year. Grand Phnom Penh’s project manager, Gunady Wiranan, said that meeting a January deadline would pose substantial challenges. “It will be an 18-hole course, but so far we have only completed four holes,” he said. The course was created by Nicklaus Design and covers 70 hectares at the centre of the 260-hectare satellite city. Work on the golf course began in 2008 through a partnership between Indonesia’s Ciputra and the YLP Group of Cambodia.
