The body of a Thai soldier killed during a brief clash with Cambodian troops in Pursat province on Friday 29th January had been repatriated on Sunday 31th January back to Thailand, reports Deum Ampil.
Cambodian soldiers claimed one Thai was killed and three wounded in the clash which occurred after about 15 to 20 Thai soldiers crossed into Cambodian territory and refused to withdraw. The Cambodian side claimed it had suffered no casualty. The body was repatriated after a meeting between Cambodian and Thai commanders.
Mr. Khoy Sokha, Governor of Pursat who had just returned from the clash site, told Deum Ampil that Cambodian soldiers had carried the body of the dead Thai soldier in a stretch for about 6 hours from the clash site before they reached the Thai side of the borders. He said the Cambodian authority regrets the incident, but reiterates that it is a self-defence right in the defence of Cambodian territorial integrity.
Col. Sy Kiri, Deputy Police Commissioner of Pursat, said the Thai soldier was killed when Cambodian soldiers launched four to six B-40 rocket-propelled grenades at them during the clash.
Mr. Khoy Sokha said the situation in the area has now returned to normal after meetings between the two sides.

I bet Thai soldiers won't be too arrogant anymore. Before they just crossed into Cambodian territory and hurl abuses at Cambodian soldiers. This is the result of their arrogance- 1 dead, 10 wounded.
They killed too many Khmer loggers, now it's time we teach them a lesson for crossing into our lands and abused us. I don't advocate brutality, but if the Thais killed us we should repay in kind.
Cambodian soldiers should not tolerate any foreign invasion.it's a Thai's groos violation of Cambodian's intergrity and sovereignty. Camdodia Should take this case to UN . Thai people should kwon that Cambodia has no intention to invade them. You kwon that we rushed to defend our country with flip-flops and rusty guns.
