Cambodia has issued an arrest warrant for the country's main opposition leader Sam Rainsy, who is currently in Paris.
After Mr Rainsy failed to show up to answer charges of uprooting border markings, a warrant was issued by the court.
It is alleged that Mr Rainsy damaged markers denoting the international boundary with neighbouring Vietnam.
The French-educated former finance minister, the main rival to Prime Minister Hun Sen, was charged with inciting racial discrimination and intentionally damaging property, after saying the markers had been illegally placed by Vietnam.
Cambodia and Vietnam officially began demarcating their contentious border in September 2006, in a bid to end decades of disputes.
The border row sparked anti-Vietnamese sentiment in Cambodia.
