Acting government spokesman Panithan Wattanayakorn said on Saturday that Puea Thai MP Jatuporn Promphan must be held responsible for consequences from his disclosure of classified document of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr Panithan said he has never seen the document but insisted that this case would not create any problem to the government.

He admitted that it will be difficult to find the official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who provided the secret document to Mr Jatuporn.

Democrat Party spokesman Buranath Samutrak condemned Mr Jatuporn for uncovering of the classified document which makes Cambodia learn standpoint of Thailand.

Personal spokesperson of Democrat Party leader Thepthai Senpong noted that Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen might have received the classified document therefore the Cambodian government has shown its strong stance against the Thai government.

He said the disclosure of the classified document was for the benefit of fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Mr Jatuporn insisted that he had done nothing wrong because he had just disclosed a plan of robbers. He said the panel set up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no authority to summon him to give information on the disclosed classified document.

Mr Jatuporn dared the Foreign Ministry to take legal action against him for disclosing the secret document. He insisted that the classified document is real and he is ready to disclose another nine pages of the document.

“The additional nine pages will clearly show that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Kasit Piromya was trying to kill former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra”, Mr Jatuporn said, adding that he will show the remaining pages of the classified document after Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva explains about the issue late this afternoon.
