I know Soy Sopheap (pictured) very well. Soy Sopheap was a jobless person because he had no higher education. In 1994, Soy Sopheap helped Dam Sithik to form an independent and an opposition-affiliated newspaper called Moneaksekar Khmer, but he never run the newspaper. Latter on, owing to his broken English, Soy Sopheap was able to get a job as a freelance reporter for Kyodo News Agency. But because of his inability to write good English for Kyodo, then he lost the job. After that, Soy Sopheap was jobless and again has returned to work as a freelance reporter for Moneaksekar Khmer. His pseudonym for Moneaksekar Khmer is Tum Somalay.
During the parliamentary election in 2003, Soy Sopheap has been appointed as the Secretary General of Hang Dara's Democratic Movement Party ( Kanak Pak Hang Dara Chalna Prachea Thepatay). As a Secretary General, he has changed his given name to Samreth. During the election campaign in 2003, Soy Sopheap frequently approached Dam Sithik and asked to publish his political party platform and campaign message on Moneaksekar Khmer Newspaper, but was refused by Dam Sithik. Soy Sopheap was angry with Dam Sithik and stopped working for Moneaksekar Khmer. At that time the CTN TV station has just started its broadcasting, and then Soy Sopheap was employed as CTN anchorman as the news analyst.
Now Soy Sopheap is the real tool of the CPP. He could change his mind so quickly from the critic of the government to the slave of Hun Sen. If you want to know how Soy Sopheap has criticised Hun Sen and the CPP, please find the old publications of Moneaksekar Khmer Newspaper and find any articles written by Tum Somalay and then you will know how Soy Sopheap had criticised Mr. Hun Sen and the CPP (Cambodian People's Party).
Soy Sopheap had many wives. His current wife is the fourth one. The first wife was a Chinese-Khmer woman who divorced him after having one son. The second one was a daughter of Pich Tum Kravel, Undersecretary of State for Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts. She was not legally married to Soy Sopheap yet but they had lived together as de facto partners. Pich Tum Kravel's daughter left Soy Sopheap when she went on a performing art tour to the US. After a while Soy Sopheap married another woman. I remember that time that (Minister of Information) Khieu Kanharith had also attended his wedding. About 5 months after their wedding, his third wife had died while working at Parkway business center in Phnom Penh. Then Soy Sopheap married the fourth woman who is his current wife.

I come from nowhere and reached this stage, this guy must a real, real animal.
There are accusations that he used to extort money from people, if they don't pay he will publish all fake story in his newspaper and broadcast on his TV programs on CTN TV.
May be this is where he gets all his money to launch his newspaper, radio, magazine and TV?
I too knew Soy Sopheap....he is a bad ass licker and cock sucker. As a media person, he must be neutral but he is NEVER be one when it comes to CPP. He lashed out Sam Rainsy....for uprooting the border posts between Cambodia and Vietnam. Clearly, he interseted and altered his view to appease Hun Sen. I wonder if ever he ever thought of predicaments that Khmer Krom are faciing today. The sticky situation between Cambodian and Vietnam will NEVER ended! Life of course, must goes on but the resentment toward the Viet Cong. will NEVER be extincted in the Majority of Cambodians. I know, Soy Sopheap too against the Vietnamese's encroachment but this is part of his short live survival skill. I stop being his friend....and he always asked me for his spending money but I NEVER wasted a penny on this JERK.....

I didn't write this article. One of Ki-Media readers wrote and I just posted.
I just want to make it clear here that I have no intention of discrediting Soy Sopheap, but since he is an interesting character and a controversial figure, I thought the article might interest readers. This is the only reason why I posted this article.
