Cambodian villagers and border police alleged that several Thai spy planes violated Cambodian airspace along the Banteay Meanchey-Sakeo borders, reports Radio Free Asia.
Witnesses and Cambodian border police said that at least four Thai spy planes flew over the area on the night of 10th November, the same day as ex-Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra's arrival in Cambodia.
Cambodian villagers said at around 8:30 pm, many Thai planes flew very low over the roof of the houses from Poipet to Thmor Puok and then heading to Malai.
One villager said: "I saw a plane flying over the roof of my house and another one follow. I saw them flying heading toward Wat Tbeng Pagoda. They got two red lights and they didn't fly high, may be about one kilometres above the ground."
Another villager said: "Three planes headed to toward Malai, straight west. We saw them from the ground flying from Poipet heading west. I saw three planes flying from east to west with red lights and they flew very low. The last three planes flew over their territories."
Mr. Chhouk Ang, commander of Brigade 911 based in the area, said he had ordered the planes to be shot down. "I have ordered my troops to shoot them down, but the planes flew past our area very fast. They flew very fast, so my troops cannot get orders fast enough (to shoot them down)", he said.
However, Mr. Sam Cheth, Deputy Police Commissioner of Banteay Meanchey, said the Thai planes flew over Thai territories near Poipet, not inside Khmer territories.
In 2008 and 2009, many Thai spy planes had violated Cambodian airspace by flying as 30 kilometres deep inside Khmer territories in Pailin and other border areas.

These Thai planes should be shot down for violating Khmer airspace. Our airspace is our sovereignty and if anyone violate it, they must face the consequence.
Where is all of the SAM that Cambodia once show off the arsonel? Cambodia need to protection her border with SAM. Right it is easy to get all they do is talk to China/Russia.
