PHNOM PENH — The Cambodian and Vietnamese news agencies have agreed to implement a technical assistance project as soon as it is approved by the Viet Nam-Cambodia Inter-Governmental Committee at its meeting in Preah Sihanouk early next month.
The agreement was reached at a working session between Kit Kim Huon, General Director of the Cambodian News Agency (AKP) and visiting Viet Nam News Agency (VNA) Deputy General Director Nguyen Duc Loi, who is leading a VNA delegation on a week-long visit to Cambodia that began last Sunday.
Loi pledged that VNA would exert all efforts to assist AKP in training human resources as well as to providetechnical assistance to improve the Cambodian news agency’s professional capacity to meet increasing demand for information.
Kit Kim Huon expressed her sincere thanks to VNA for its valuable assistance to and co-operation with the Cambodian news agency during a period of more than 30 years.
Loi also had meetings with Cambodian Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam On and Information Minister Khieu Kanharith. — VNS
