Cambodian senior minister in charge of border affairs, Var Kimhong and Council of Ministers spokesman Phay Siphan all said that, on the eastern borders, Cambodia did not even lose one inch of territories.
However, in August 1999, Gen. Ke Kimyan, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, wrote a lengthy report to Prime Minister Hun Sen accusing Vietnam of encroaching Cambodian territories in 20 locations along the borders in Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng and Takeo provinces.
Among the 20 encroachments, some had been as deep as 1.4 kilometres inside Khmer territories, while in other locations the encroachments took vast areas of Cambodian farmers rice-fields. Please read Ke Kimyan's report in Khmer here.
