Australian Ambassador Margaret Adamson had on 2nd October welcomed 18 Cambodians who have completed their masters degree courses in Australia, in a lavish ceremony in Phnom Penh, reports Radio Australia.
The 18 graduates had spent at least 2 years at Australian universities doing courses ranging from Public Administration, Accountancy, Public Health, Education, Developments and Agricultural Sciences.
Australia has provided at least 25 scholarships for masters degree level to Cambodian students every year. On top of this, 19 Cambodians who have leadership potential had received scholarships to study at masters degree and doctorate degree level since 2007. Other than these two programs, Australia had provided 4o scholarships for short courses to Cambodian students and officials every year.
Since 1994, Australia had provided scholarships to 300 students and officials who had now held high positions in the government and in the private sectors.
