The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Justice on October 14 granted Vietnamese citizenship to 15 foreign residents in the city following the State President’s decision.
They include 12 from Cambodia, one from Taiwan, one from India and one from Korea.
The Municipal Department of Justice pledged to help these new citizens to integrate into Vietnamese society.
Forty-seven people, most of whom are Cambodian, have been granted Vietnamese citizenship since the beginning of 2009.
