Phnom Penh University said it is offering a bachelor course in the Chinese language in 2010-2011 in order to fulfill the needs of the labour markets in the country.
Mr. Lao Chhiv Eav, Rector of Phnom Penh University, said on 16th September that the course will commence next year at the bachelor degree level. "In 2010-2011 we will take 30 students for the bachelor course (in Chinese language)", he said.
Despite Chinese language is in high demand in the labour markets and it has been widely taught at the private schools, it has not been yet taught at the bachelor degree level.
