Sources from Preah Vihear said that Thai soldiers are continuing to remove all barbed wire and concrete fences illegally built on the "prohibited zone" at Phnom Trop area which have come under strong protests from Cambodian troops recently.

Commander of the Intervention Forces of Division 3, Gen. Srey Doek, told Koh Santepheap newspaper through telephone on 13th August that Thai soldiers had promised and begun to remove 100% of barbed wire and concrete fences as demanded by the Cambodian side.

The source also said that ordinary Thai soldiers are very angry with their commanders who ordered to them to build those fences only to be ordered them removed almost immediately.

As of 14th August, some of the fences haven't been removed yet as the Thai soldiers said they are too tired that they cannot meet the Cambodian ultimatum set for 10th August. However, they have promised to completely removing all the fences by Saturday, the 15th.

I don't believe that the Thai will remove all the fences. And besides, they keep building houses on Khmer soil. The damned Hun Sen can't protect our borders.
