A military officer with the rank of a major general, who was invited to a wedding party, ended up ruining that wedding party when he launched into a rage by firing a pistol and trashing the restaurant after accusing the waitress of not serving him properly.

Deum Ampil reported that this particular general was invited to a wedding party at Boeng Meas Restaurant in Phnom Penh on 31st July. He launched into a rage by breaking numerous plates and firing two bullets into the ceiling after allegedly upset that a waitress did not serve him properly. His rage had sent wedding guests and restaurant staff ducking for cover and running in a stampede to escape to the streets.

A moment later the police arrived. But according to witnesses, they dared not approach or arrest him because the highest ranking police officers who attended the scene were only sargeants but the culprit was a major general in the army. The culprit was last seen leaving the restaurant moments later in a black Mercedes without any charges.

For a man of his position, he behaved like a gangster, very unprofessional for a two stars general, relieve him of his position, court martial him. If found guilty, demote him. The general's conduct need to be evaluate. If during war situation, if his mind is unstable, he cannot make good decision. His rage will only get his troops kill in battle.

True, investigate him and dismiss and lock him up if he is found guilty of unruly shooting.

A drunken general like him would not have a stable mind to command the army on the battlefields. He committed crimes, so he must serve the time, like everybody else.

It all sounds very good to just throw his silly ass in jail. In reality, the higher they are, they more power they have. In Cambodia's law doesn't seem to apply to them much, because they could get away with a lot of carelessness shit that they have been doing. What we need to do is get rid of the sort of person our own's way.

We must deal with this unprofessional general accordingly. He must be trialed if found guilty he must be stripped out of his position. We don't want to see him set an example for future references. Got to take this misbehavior seriously.
