From: Los Angeles

Website: http://www.myspace.com/denguefevermusic

Sound: Cambodian pop combined with American psychadelic and surf rock. Beautiful, exotic sounding Cambodian rock riffs fuse with occasional use of English lyrics and a lot of psychadelic surf guitar.

Albums:

Dengue Fever (2003)
Escape from Dragon House (2005)
Venus on Earth (2008)

Bio: Dengue Fever was a band that formed after Zac and Ethan were inspired by a trip to Cambodia. They began a search for a vocalist who could sing in Khmer, and discovered Chhom Nimol, a famous karaoke singer from Cambodia. Most songs are covers of Cambodian rock songs from the 60s, but the group's third album 'Venus on Earth' features original tunes written with English lyrics. The group is well known for its alliance with various charity organizations in Cambodia. Their music has appeared in films such as "Broken Flowers" and "Must Love Dogs." Their music has also been featured on the hit television show "True Blood" and twice on Showtime's show "Weeds.
