What were military weapons doing at Hun Sen's house?

Dear Editor

Separate stories this week published in the English-language press make me wonder.

On Sunday, June 28, a truck carrying B-40 rockets and other munitions en route to Preah Vihear blows up within the compound that they are stored, Toul Krorsang, in Takhmao. The same compound also houses one of Prime Minister Hun Sen's primary residences.

Separately, the first vice president of the National Assembly, Nguon Nhel, and another Cambodian People's Party lawmaker, Ai Khon, on the same day threaten the opposition against the use of expressions such as "dictated National Assembly" or other phrases suggesting that the NA is under single-party or single-man rule ("SRP lawmakers threatened with lawsuits over criticism", July 1, 2009).

So Cambodia is, as its constitution says, a vibrant, "multi-party liberal democratic regime guaranteeing human rights and the respect of law" with international standard separations of power. But I wonder why a democratically elected, civilian prime minister stores munitions of sufficient size and quantity to fight an international war at his house?

Cambodia: Kingdom of Wonder. It sure does make me wonder.

Hun Sen is very paranoid and worried about assassinations days and nights. He doesn't trust anyone so he has to have a stockpile of modern weapons such as anti-aircraft missiles, artilleries, helicopters, tanks and deployed more than 1500 troops at his Takmao home at his home. People, you must know that Hun Sen stocked all modern weapons, missiles, anti-aircraft missiles and deployed more than 1500 troops at his Takmao home. He said he is not afraid of assassination, but why Hun Sen so many bodyguards and modern weapons at his homes?

All these weapons and troops should be deployed at Preah Vihear front line against the Thai invaders.

One day this stock of weapons will accidentally explode and kill him.

It's not in Hun Sen's house, moron. It's in a military base by his house. Get your facts straight, moron.

It is in Hun Sen's house. The whole Toul Krosaing compound is Hun Sen's house. It never happens anywhere, even military dictators don't store national weapons in their house. It only happens in Cambodia under Hun Sen. This Hun Sen think that Cambodia is his own property. One day he will die by these bombs that will explode accidentally. If only he dies, I don't feel pity but I worry that innocent people living around his compound will die because of his lunacy. These weapons, bought with public money, should be stored in military warehouse, not at a private house of Hun Sen.
