The Metfone Company - a subsidiary of Vietnam’s Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel) - has signed a sponsorship deal with the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) on July 22.
Metfone will be the official sponsor of almost all of the tournaments held by the FFC such as the Samdech Techo Hun Sen Cup, Cambodia’s Second Division, as well as the national squad between 2010 and 2012.
Sao Sokha, the FFC President, said he hopes that the Federation will benefit more as it has linked up with an experienced, effective and trustworthy sponsor like Viettel. The sponsor will boost the development of Cambodia football in particular and sports in general.
Nguyen Duy Tho, Director of Metfone, confirmed that the company will continue to invest in the country’s football after this contract expires.
Viettel-Cambodia was licensed to operate in Cambodia in June 2007 and now has about half a million customers.
