Thirty-one Vietnamese war veterans of the Cambodian wars have visited the old battlefields they once fought against the feared Khmer Rouge in the 1970s.
The delegation of the Vietnamese war veterans was led by Col. Han Cong Vien, Chief of Staff of Military Region One. All 31 members of the delegation comprised of active and retired military officers with the ranks of colonels plus their wives and children.
The delegation is on a 10 day tour of the old battlefields in Cambodia they once fought against the Khmer Rouge in the late 1970s.
Members of the delegation expressed their surprise at seeing how the cities and towns once ravaged by wars beyond recognition had been turned into beautiful cities populated by happy people.
The visit, which started on 21st July, will end on the 31st 2009.
