A senior Cambodian military officer from the Defence Ministry said the Thai military has asked for a delay of troop withdrawals from the Preah Vihear temple, awaiting for the approval of the Thai parliament.

The same Thai promises in August 2008 has not been fulfilled until now, despite agreeing in principle to withdraw.

Mr. Suthep Taugsuban, Thai Deputy PM in charge of military affairs, said before leaving for Cambodia on Saturday that there is no troop re-adjustment on the front line because this is the role of the Defence Ministry.

The same Cambodian military officer said Cambodia agreed to the Thai request for the delay of troop withdrawals because Cambodia understands the internal crisis that Thailand is facing, but insists that Cambodia will not abandon its role of defending its sovereignty.

Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Friday morning during an inauguration ceremony of Highway 67 that he had cancelled a luncheon with Thai Deputy PM Suthep Taugsuban because he had to attend the funeral of the late madame Nhem Soeun, wife of Senate and Cambodian People's Party president Chea Sim who had passed away in the early hour of Friday.

Latest reports from Preah Vihear indicated that the situations along the disputed borders are calm and seven Thai soldiers based at Wat Keo Sekha Kirisvarak pagoda haven't been withdrawn yet, despite reports that they have been given until today (4 July) to withdraw.

What do you mean? Deum Ampil is the source of the information, therefore it cannot be the other way around. Also it was not a word for word translation. Khmerization writes the article himself using the information from the Deum Ampil article.

Khmerization means translating into Khmer, if i am not mistaken.

Oh, I understand. You means Khmerization is making everything into Khmer. I think the guy is too busy doing news in both English and Khmer, so he chose English only, I supposed.
