PHNOM PENH, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said Cambodia and Thailand should try to prevent armed conflicts and to secure a border of peace, security and development, the official news agency AKP (Agency Kampuchea Presse)reported on Friday.

Hun Sen made the remarks when he met with visiting Thai Parliament President and speaker of the House of Representatives Chai Chid Chob on Thursday. The premier stressed that "any dispute could have negative impacts on Cambodia-Thailand trade," according to Ieng Sophalet, assistant to the premier.

Meanwhile, Chai Chid Chob asked Hun Sen to help maintaining good relationship between Cambodia and Thailand and praised him for his right decision to reduce tension between the two neighboring countries.

On the same day, Chai held talks with Cambodian National Assembly President Heng Samrin. During the meeting, Heng Samrin asked once again the Thai Parliament to push the Thai government to accelerate the negotiations by using bilateral existing mechanisms and to withdraw its troops from the Preah Vihear Temple's area.

According to Koam Kosal, cabinet chief and assistant to Heng Samrin, Chai affirmed to bring these recommendations to the Thai government.

During his meeting with Cambodian Senate President Chea Sim, Chai Chid Chob shared the same idea with Chea Sim, especially withCambodia's stance to solve the border dispute peacefully and to avoid confrontations, Pheng Kunthea Borey, head of protocol of Chea Sim, told reporters after the talks.

The delegation of Thai Parliament arrived here on Thursday for a two-day official visit. It was also granted an audience by His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia on Friday.

what the hell man..what's with all these meetings and peace making? Siem wants war, give the bastard war, reject any offer they seek, piss them off and let them make that first move. Why else would they have the tanks stationed at the border, for show and intimidation purposes? If the Siem wants war so bad, come on over, Cambodia is harmless, let get this shit over with. I'm tired of reading about some top of the foodchain government bastards shaking, having luncheon, and accomplish nothing. What the hell man....

The Thai treated Khmer leaders like idiots. They think Khmer leaders are idiots that's why they don't take them seriously. Maybe Khmer leaders are stupid that's why they accepted anything the Thais proposed. They should realized by now that the Thais are playing games. They want to occupy Khmer territories forever.

you know the Siem is too well aware of the consequences to go to war with Khmer.

history wise, do we all know that after Siem fought Khmer for their own independence some eon ago, they adpoted a mythological creature of Garuda(Grut in Khmer) for their nation. As for Khmer, we always associated ouselves with mythological creature of Naga(serpent)eversince Funan kingdom. Hindu mythological legend has it that Garuda and Naga were half-brothers, same mother. Garuda is always jealous of naga, they are always fighting each others like cat and dog. since Garuda has wings, it can flys, which has an advantage of seeing from above while Naga has the advantage of seeing in low hidden places. during the fight, Garuda attempted to pick up Naga with its flying wings, Naga suddently swollowed up a huge stone to make its body heavy for Garuda to pick up. Garuda tried and tried and was never able to pick up or defeat Naga. well...the grabing from Garuda's claws hurt Naga like hell though.

anywho...there is a connecting between Siem and Khmer pertaining to his legend. Siem will always be jealous of Khmer because they can't bare the knowing of being the nation that was created the sperm of Khmer empire, whatever that make them Siem it came from Khmer, well...I can't say about their arrogance though. and that is why Siem tried so damn hard to erase Khmer and replace us with Siem, hell..the modern day Siem were Khmer at one time, for instant Khmer Surin. Siem will always attempt to wage war with Khmer any opportunity they get. Khmer will always defend our turf to last breath regardless of the military might of Siem. If Siem wants to pull the 1979 Vietnamese invasion stunt on Khmer, hell...Khmer will very much welcome it.

Khmer perveive Thai as deceitful manipulative, and dishonest. In a way, those adjetives are true. These characteristics are somewhat advantages and able to overcome many obstacles throughout her history. Thailand always ally and kissing up to the rich and powerful nations, mainly the west. With this as collateral, she is able to get away with things her neighbors couldn't. Her culture is somewhat confusing. She is more influence by european than any nation in Southeast Asia. The fond for europeans and their cultures give her military and economics advantages over her neighbors. Because she is more richer than her neighbors, she became arrogance. With this arrogance, she is creating more enemy among her neighbors. As a Buddhist country, she behave less likely of a Buddhist. She doesn't seem to put the teaching into practice. Greeds run rampant in her kingdom. Like anything, one can last only so long and weak and disappear, will this apply to Thailand? We shall see.
