Cambodian consular officials and Cambodian expatriates living in Lowell, Massachussetts in the United States have on Sunday 14th June held a celebration ceremony to mark the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Preah Vihear court case over Thailand, reports Radio Free Asia.
On 15th June 1962, the International Court of Justice adjudicated to give the ownership of Preah Vihear temple to Cambodia.
the celebration was attended by Cambodian ambassador to the UN, Dr. Sea Kosal and ambassador to Washington, Mr. Hemm Heng as well as Cambodian consul for Massachussetts, Mr. Ou Sovan.
Mr. Ou Sovann said: "On the 14th of March 2002 (did he mean 14th June 2009?), as an honourary consular, I have organised a night of artistic performances to raise money to support our borderline soldiers and their families. Also the celebration is to mark the 47th anniversary of the Preah Vihear court case on 15th June 1962. Also this celebration is to mark the first anniversary of the listing of Preah Vihear temple in the World Heritage List (which was listed on 7th July 2008)."

Deum Ampil has also reported that the associations of Cambodian journalists have also held a celebration ceremony of the anniversary of the victory of Preah Vihear court case at Deum Ampil headquarter in Phnom Penh.
The celebration was held two days after the Thai PM concluded his visit to Cambodia in which the prime ministers of both countries vowed not to let the fighting happened again, after the eruptions of two deadly clashes in October 2008 and april 2009.
