Thai Foreign Minister made a secret visit to Koh Kong

Deumm Ampil newspaper
Translated by Khmerization

The Thai Foreign Minister (pictured), Mr. Kasit Piromya, and his wife had made a secret visit to Koh Kong via Chaim Yeam International Checkpoint at 2:30 pm Saturday, the 16th of May, flanked by other 12 officials from the Thai embassy.

The Thai minister was seen visiting and stopping to take photos at Ta Tai Bridge before returning back to Thailand at 4:40 pm on the same day.

Koh Kong provincial officials told Deum Ampil that no Cambodian official had known about the Thai minister's visit to Koh Kong.

Koh Kong residents were very inquisitive about the purpose of the Thai minister's secret visit.

Sources also said that, at the time when Mr. Kasit's car was driven back to Thailand, there was a heavy rain pouring down and there were lightnings striking repeatedly close to Mr. Kasit's car as if to chase it away. Koh Kong residents said they have never seen such a phenomenon happened like this before in Koh Kong.

I think the writer of the article wanted to imply that, because Kasit is a jinx, that's why the lightning which has never happened in Koh Kong before, repeatedly striking very close to his car as if to chase him out.
