27 de mayo de 2009, 11:31Phnom Penh, May 27 (Prensa Latina) The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the European Union (UE) opened their 17th ministerial meeting Wednesday, focused on strategic alliance for peace, security and development. The two-day forum is attended by foreign ministers of ten ASEAN member states and 26 from the EU, who will examine two-way cooperation, hoping to launch an action plan to strengthen their alliance.
The parties will also analyze major regional and international affairs such as the global crisis, food, energy safety and environment.
The EU is ASEAN's largest investor and commercial partner, accounting for 24 percent of investments.
