Cambodian border soldiers said that they have been ordered by Prime Minister Hun Sen (pictured) to shoot if Thai troops encroach Cambodian territories again.
In a speech yesterday, PM Hun Sen declared publicly that he had ordered Cambodian troops to open fire if Thai troops violate Cambodian sovereignty.
Mr. Hun Sen said: "You (Thai) encroach on someone's lands and said to them not to shoot. But if you encroach again, we will shoot. I tell you now, I am not a "Neak Leng " (gangster), I am a "Neak Men" (a real man)."
(In the Cambodian idiom, the word "Neak Leng" literally means a thug or a gangster, but sometimes people jokingly use it to mean as "a person who never carry out his threats", which is the opposite of the word "Neak Men" (a real man) who says what he really means and who is not afraid to carry out his threats.)
Mr. Hun Sen issued his orders after there are reports that Thai troops had violated the Cambodian sovereignty at the Preah Vihear areas again.
Mr. Hun Sen continued: "And the border troops had already received my orders. The other day they encroached at Veal Entry again. I have told Gen. Pol Saroeun (Cambodian Commander-in-Chief) and I have to told Gen. Yim Pim (border commander) personally that you all know where our borderlines are. If they encroach you can attack straight away, you don't need to ask my permission. This is what we called a "Neak Men" (a real man). This message should be a clear message that I send back to them (the Thai). (if we talk about) a gentleman with the heart of a gangster, I am in between the two. I am neither a gentleman nor a gangster, but I am a real man (Neak Men). And I am a real Cambodian leader who was elected by the will of the people and not by robbing the power from anyone."
(Mr. Hun Sen's statement is in reference to the Abhisit government which Mr. Kasit Piromya is serving as foreign minister, which is a government formed after the demonstrators had toppled the previous government in the demonstrations that Mr. Kasit had actively participated.)
On 26th March, 2009, there were reports that 100 Thai troops had encroached the Cambodian territories at Veal Entry again.
Gen. Srey Doek, commander for the Preah Vihear areas, said that all soldiers are ready to follow Prime Minister Hun Sen's orders. He said: "In short he (Hun Sen) had already issued the orders (to shoot). We will never violate anyone's territories, not even one milimetre. And we will never allow anyone to violate our territories either, not even one milimetre."
According to Gen. Srey Doek, up to 5 pm on the 1st of April, there is no report of any encroachments by Thai troops and that the situations in the areas remained calm.

here we go again... thai and khmer ready to fight...
This is only a rhetoric. In the end Hun Sen will not do anything again. Many times Hun Sen threatened to take tough measures against the Thai, but at the end nothing happened. coward Hun Sen.
