Overseas Khmers have donated 290 euros to the Khmer soldiers based in Preah Vihear who are protecting the borders at Dangrek Mountains. The donations were handed to Brig-Gen. Var Soeun, commander of division 7, by a representative from Koh Santepheap newspaper to help them buy foods and other basic needs.
The donations come Khmer living in the United States such as in New York and Boston. Part of the donations come from the Khmers in France. But a large part of the donations come from Germany.
Mr. Lam Thel, from Goshein, Germany, raised 160 euros from Khmers living in Germany. He said that the money was to support the soldiers based in the areas who lack every basic needs.
