Khmer Surin pray to ancestors to help revive Khmer language in Surin

Dear readers,

Mr. Chaimongkol Chalermsukjitsri or Chey Mongkol in Khmer is a Khmer Surin who is single-handedly trying to revive the Khmer language in Surin province in Thailand. He should be commended for his dedication, but he faces an uphill battle due to the lack of interests and funds. He cannot do it alone, so he needs our Khmer brothers and sisters Diaspora and those living inside Cambodia to help him.

The pictures below show that he and his supporters are performing a Khmer ritual to pray to Khmer ancestors to help them revive the Khmer language in Surin. Please help him if you can. Thanks - Khmerization

Dear Friends of the Khmer Language,

I am proudly present you pictures of our ceremony on February 8th, 2009 to pay homage to Khmer literature in Sren (Surin) province. We hope that Khmer language in Sren (Surin) will be forever through your care and support. There are about 70 people attended the ceremony and two local singers--Thai Roong and Sai Roong were also sang for the audiences.

We do hope more people would see our causes otherwise our effort will be in vain.

Yours sincerely,

Chey Mongkol
