A senior official from the Council of Ministers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Prime Minister Hun Sen has revealed some of the reasons for the sacking of Gen. Ke Kimyan (pictured) as the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF).

The same official said, in the meeting at the Council of Ministers on Friday 23rd January, Prime Minister Hun Sen told the meeting that Gen. Ke Kimyan was sacked because he had refused to follow the orders of a prime minister.

The Prime Minister also said that Gen. Ke Kimyan owned many illegal plots of lands in various provinces that no one dares to touch them.

Prime Minister Hun Sen added that, furthermore, Gen. Ke Kimyan dares to argue with the defence minister, Gen. Tea Banh, and has refused to follow the orders of Gen. Tea Banh.

The illegal land business reason is not convincing because almost the CPP leaders, Hun Sen included, engaged in illegal and land-grabbing businesses. The most convincing reason is that Ke Kimyan refused to follow Hun Sen's orders. It seems that Hun Sen's orders are illegal or unreasonable, that's why Kimyan refused to follow.
