Cambodia, Thailand make limited progress in border talks

Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to conduct a joint survey of border markers placed along the two countries' disputed land
boundary more than a century ago.

They say the survey is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Negotiators have also agreed that both sides will jointly remove landmines in the contested area around the 11th century Preah Vihear temple.

Talks aimed at ending the tense military stand off between the two countries began in the Cambodian city of Siem Reap on Monday.

Cambodia's chief negotiator says despite some progress , many issues remain to be solved.

Discussions between two countries' foreign ministers are scheduled for later today (Wednesday).
