The prime ministers of Cambodia and Thailand reportedly plan to hold talks this week in Beijing.
The talks follow a long-running border dispute which escalated into a deadly shoot-out last week.
A spokesman for Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen says he expects to meet his Thai counterpart Somchai Wongsawat on the sidelines of a two-day meeting between leaders of Asian and European nations beginning on Friday.
A Thai government spokeswoman has confirmed Mr Somchai is going to China but says she has no information on talks with Hun Sen.
