Khmer Krom History

Dear Khmerization,

Please find my comment as below :

In 1698, Nguyen Huu Canh, a Vietnamese noble... thus INVADING the area from Cambodia, which was not strong enough to intervene. Since 1698... The Vietnamese became the majority population in most places, IT IS NOT THAT PERIOD.

When independence was granted to French Indochina in 1954, ... the Khmer Rouge regime attacked Vietnam in an attempt to GET BACK those areas of the delta still predominantly inhabited by Khmer Krom people, ... with Vietnam occupying Cambodia.

VIETNAM INVADE CAMBODIA BUT CAMBODIA NEVER INVADE VIETNAM, PLEASE, TRY TO WRITE OUR OWN HISTORY BY OUR SELF !!!

Dear Thhai Makara,

Thank you for your comments. The article posted here is very representative of the historical facts. I have no reference to cross-check the dates and details, but from my readings I don't have anything to doubt the factual details of the article, except the claims relating to the KR.

I regard to the claims that Khmer Rouge attacked Vietnam to reconquer the lost Kampuchea Krom lands, like you, and from commonsense and from my other reliable sources, i don't believe that the KR had initiated the war. The Vietnam-Khmer Rouge war was provoked by Vietnam through its encroachments of Cambodia's borders. I am not an apologist of the Khmer Rouge, but I believe that what the KR did was to protect Cambodia's borders from encroachments. Anyway, thank you for your advice. Yes, we should try to write our own history rather than learning it from foreign historians. Good point.
