Soldiers from Thailand guard at Cekakiri Svarak pagoda in the compounds of Preah Vihaer temple, 245 km (152 miles) north of Phnom Penh, July 17, 2008. Thai police and angry local villagers blocked a convoy of nationalist Thai protesters on Thursday from reaching a disputed ancient temple on the country's border with Cambodia. The latest flare-up -- which has seen a buildup of troops on both sides of the border -- was triggered by Bangkok's support for the UNESCO listing, which government critics said was tantamount to selling out Thailand's heritage. Soldiers from Thailand deploy near the Cekakiri Svarak pagoda of the Preah Vihaer temple, about 245 km (152 miles) north of Phnom Penh, July 17, 2008. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Thursday a border row with Thailand was "worsening" and urged the immediate withdrawal of Thai troops from the disputed ancient temple. A political uproar in Thailand over Cambodia's listing of the Preah Vihear temple as a World Heritage site has been stoked by groups seeking to oust Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej's shaky ruling coalition.
