A Thai court has issued an injunction on the government, preventing it from supporting Cambodia's bid to list a contested Hindu temple on its border as a World Heritage Site.
The injunction overturns a cabinet resolution endorsing a new map of the Preah Vihear temple site which angered Thai nationalists.
Anti-government protesters believe Thailand stands to lose territory in the agreement.
Cambodia this week closed the temple after more than 100 Thais marched to the compound to protest over the deal.
Cambodia planned to ask the UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting in Canada next month to have the site listed to attract more tourists.
