One home belonging to an activist of the Norodom Ranariddh Party burned in Svay Rieng Monday, even as Prime Minister Hun Sen called for non-violence in the election period.
NRP Svay Rieng candidate In Sokhom said the house of activist Kong Keat burned in Romeas Hek commune, after he refused a relative’s invitation to join the Cambodian People’s Party.
Commune policeman Sok Sokha said the house burned down due to an accident in the kitchen.
Speaking at a certificate ceremony in Phnom Penh Monday, Hun Sen called on political parties to respect election laws and reduce violence as the polls approach.
