If you study the maps below carefully you will see that Thailand had laid claims to parts of Cambodian lands around the Preah Vihear temple. Above is a Google map showing Thailand had actually encroached on Cambodia's borders. Below (first map) is a proposed map for the listing of Preah Vihear temple showing a large parts of Cambodia located in "Thailand". In this map there is no showing of "disputed areas". The disputed areas in this map now belong to Thailand as seen in the map. Second and third maps below are maps drawn by Franco-Siamese Commission in 1907. The top yellow lines were the agreed lines in 1907 which put the present day's "disputed areas in Cambodia, but in the 1962 court case Thailand laid claims to those areas, marked "green" in the second and third map bellow. And the last map was also a proposed map for the listing of Preah Vihear temple showing borderline had been pushed deep inside Cambodia.
