PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (AP) — A lawyer for the Khmer Rouge's former head of state says the 76-year-old is in serious condition at a hospital.
Khieu Samphan was under detention by Cambodia's genocide tribunal when he was rushed to the hospital with high blood pressure on May 21.
Attorney Say Bory says Khieu Samphan has worsened and that he is now partly paralyzed on the left side of his body. He says his client "can speak but his words are unclear."
